Sir,
PF
I have the honour to invite reference to my
ISO 80 E. A. despatch Confidential (2) of 3rd March, 1937, regarding
28765 CR
53723/37
"Levin me
(ie cira)
the transference of Mr. J. J. Hayden to the service of Kenya Colony, and to inform you that, to fill the vacancy thus created in Mr. Hayden's substantive post of Official Receiver, I have decided to recommend for your approval the name of Mr. L. R. Andrewes, Assistant Registrar, Supreme Court, at present acting Registrar. In this connection I would refer also to the
confidential reports on this officer.
2.
The post of Official Receiver has hitherto carried a salary of £1,000 £1,200 by annual increments of fifty pounds; but, when I framed the recommendations for future salaries which, in their final form, were sent for your approval with my despatch No.138 of 9th February, 1937, I was of the opinion that no good reason existed for the attachment to this post of a special salary, and it was accordingly omitted from the list of such super-scale posts in enclosure No.2 to that despatch and left to be filled by an officer of the legal service on a time scale. The present
